SUPPORT TO LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENTS
IN ESTABLISHMENT OF LOCAL COORDINATION MECHANISM TO PROTECT WASTE PICKERS` LIVELIHOODS
With the support of the Swiss Government, the Programme "PRO - Local Governance for People and Nature" will provide direct support to 12 local self-governments in improving the position and enhancing access to rights for informal waste pickers in the context of the modernisation of the waste management system.
The total budget of this public call is 300,000 dollars (in RSD), and the implementation of the activities within the proposed intervention will last a maximum of 22 months.
The primary goal of this intervention is to focus on the local waste pickers, more specifically to restore their livelihoods and to monitor the progress of Individual Household Support Plans. Additionally, the Programme aims at developing and implementing more inclusive local public policies and ensuring the delivery of more inclusive and sustainable public services for local waste pickers.
The public call is organised through a transparent and competitive process, and the selection of the users of support will be done through an evaluation and ranking of the submitted project proposals. More on the process and criteria for the selection of beneficiaries can be found in the Public Call Description and Criteria.
