Application Deadline for Support to Local Civil Society Organisations Extended

The Programme "PRO - Local Governance for People and Nature" is extending the application deadline for two public calls for support to local civil society organisations to implement socially integrated services until 16 June 2023.

Financial support of the Swiss Government, in the total value of 273,000 EUR, will be given to local projects for the provision of socially integrated services, bringing together at least two of three thematic areas: social protection, education and health.

The aim of the public call is to improve access to rights and meet the needs of vulnerable citizens, with a focus on Roma, especially from informal settlements, persons with disabilities, including children and youth with developmental difficulties, as well as persons accessing the right to support according to the Law on Social Protection.

The Programme especially encourages applications from Roma associations, and additional points will be awarded if project proposals contain a needs analysis of vulnerable groups at the local level. Also, the projects must include partnerships with local self-governments or other relevant institutions, such as the Centre for Social Welfare, Health Centre or schools.

The public call for technical assistance for capacity building of at least 15 local civil society organisations with the aim of their licensing as social protection service providers is also extended by 16 June. Technical assistance will focus on day care, home assistance, personal companion for child and personal assistant services.

CSOs from 99 towns and municipalities from Šumadija, West, East and South Serbia are eligible to participate in both public calls. Additional information on the terms, application process, and selection criteria are available at Public Calls section of Programme website.

The Programme “PRO - Local Governance for People and Nature” is jointly implemented by United Nations agencies in Serbia - UNOPS, UNICEF, UNFPA and UNEP, in cooperation with the Serbian Government, and with financial support of the Government of Switzerland.
