Training for Prospective Foster Families Continues
The second training cycle took place through eight workshops from 4 October to 22 November 2024, involving 12 prospective foster families from Velika Plana and Smederevska Palanka. The training was conducted by representatives from the Milosevac Centre for Family Care and Adoption, who attended the training of trainers in the previous phase of the project.
The training is essential for preparing participants for their future roles as foster parents and for building knowledge and skills to enhance parenting competence, particularly in understanding early childhood development and the importance of forming secure emotional bonds from an early age.
Interactive work, practical examples, and case studies presented contributed to experiential learning and the acquisition of new knowledge. At the end of the training, candidates expressed strong motivation to engage in foster care.
The training was conducted as part of the “PRO - Local Governance for People and Nature” program, jointly implemented by the United Nations agencies in Serbia - UNOPS, UNICEF, UNFPA, and UNEP, in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Serbia and with financial support from the Swiss Government.
