Training to Strengthen Early Interventions for Children and Families
These trainings are part of the expansion of the Family-Centred Early Interventions (PORI) network, which provides timely, evidence-based support to families in their natural environment.
The program consists of four training cycles, delivered both in person and online. The first cycle gathered 500 participants from various sectors, while the following cycles focus on developing practical skills for applying the PORI model in direct work with families. In March 2025, the third cycle of interactive in-person training is being held in five locations: Uzice, Bor, Nis, Cacak, and Sabac.
Following the completion of the training in May, a six-month mentorship and supervisory support period will follow to strengthen institutional capacities and improve intersectoral collaboration at the local level.
The goal of the PORI program is to ensure that every family with a young child experiencing developmental difficulties receives the necessary support where they live – in their home, preschool, and local community.
The program is part of the PRO – Local Governance for People and Nature initiative, jointly implemented by UNOPS, UNICEF, UNFPA, and UNEP, in partnership with the Government of Serbia and with financial support from the Government of Switzerland.
