From Analysis to Action: Third Training Held in Aranđelovac
The training covered all key stages of the public policy cycle – from problem analysis and citizen consultations, through goal setting and budget planning, to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Through hands-on group work and practical exercises, participants had the opportunity to apply the learned methods to real challenges in their municipalities.
Particular emphasis was placed on integrating the principles of good governance – such as accountability, transparency, efficiency, and citizen participation – into everyday local government operations. The training also strengthened participants’ capacities to mainstream gender equality and environmental protection into local policies and practices, which is crucial for building more inclusive and sustainable communities.
The sessions also addressed ways to improve inter-sectoral cooperation and promote better use of data in decision-making, with a specific focus on the importance of participatory approaches in working with citizens and vulnerable groups.
This activity is part of a broader support framework that the PRO Programme provides to local governments to help them develop and implement evidence-based, socially just policies that improve quality of life for all citizens.
The Programme "PRO - Local Government for People and Nature" is jointly implemented by the United Nations agencies in Serbia - UNOPS, UNICEF, UNFPA and UNEP, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia and with the financial support of the Government of Switzerland.
