Environmental Governance
In the area of Environmental Governance, the Programme works on strengthening the capacities of local self-governments to improve public policies and practices in order to enhance the environmental protection system at the local level.
IMPROVING THE LOCAL LEGAL FRAMEWORK
Through support for the development of new and improvement of existing policies of local self-governments, the Programme contributes to the application of good governance principles in the context of environmental protection, and strengthens the capacities to develop and implement local policies.
CREATING HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENT
The Programme promotes the cooperation of local self-governments, civil society organisations, and the business sector in the area of environmental protection, through support for the implementation of local initiatives and projects that contribute to a healthier and cleaner environment.
DIALOGUE ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The Programme supports local actors to better understand the importance and gain knowledge about environmental protection and climate change, as well as the importance of integrating these topics in local sustainable development plans and other relevant local documents.
EMPOWERING THE YOUTH
The Programme provides support to young people to expand their knowledge on important environmental protection issues, climate change, the Green Agenda, in order to actively participate in the development of local policies.
