Public Calls for Technical Assistance to LSGs in the Area of Social Protection Published

With Swiss Government support, the Joint UN Programme “PRO - Local Governance for People and Nature” published two public calls for technical assistance to local self-governments (LSGs) to improve social protection and for inter-municipal cooperation in the provision of social protection services.

Public calls are open until 23 June 2023, and 96 towns and municipalities from Šumadija, West, East and South Serbia are eligible to apply. These calls represent the first phase of a broader programme intervention, which will include, in the second phase, also publishing public calls to award grants.

Through the public call for technical assistance to improve social protection, the Programme will support a maximum of 30 LSGs at development level II, III and IV, providing up to four social protection services. Through the public call for technical assistance for inter-municipal cooperation in the provision of social protection services, the Programme will support up to 10 LSGs, irrespective of the level of development and number of services. The Programme “PRO - Local Governance for People and Nature” is jointly implemented by United Nations agencies in Serbia - UNOPS, UNICEF, UNFPA and UNEP, in cooperation with the Serbian Government, and with financial support of the Government of Switzerland.
